libcairo2-dev software package provides Development files for the Cairo 2D graphics library, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcairo2-dev
libcairo2-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcairo2-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcairo2-dev *
You will get with libcairo2-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
